I have been reading "Nostradamus, the complete prophecies for the future" by Mario Reading where he has given commentary on the different prophecies by Nostradamus. I have to admit the fact that these prophecies did interest me a lot. One of the most interesting prophecy is perhaps his last one "Armageddon". Youth Environment Forum 27th Asia Pacific Jamboree & 3rd International Patrol Jamboree Suncheon, Korea 7th August 2010 REPORT The Youth Environment forum was held as a program of the 27th Asia Pacific Jamboree & 3rd International Patrol Jamboree held in Suncheon, Korea. The Youth Environment forum took place on the 7th August 2010. 76 scouts from Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, America, Mongolia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea took part in the forum. The forum was facilitated by the APR Young Adult Members Group (YAMG) and Korea Scout Association (KSA).

This August in the Youth Environment Forum in Suncheon, Korea during the 27th Regional Scout Jamboree I was asked to give a keynote speech on the different environmental issues that we are facing today in a global perspective. However, currently the Association is more a depended organization in Maldives than a self-sufficient organization. The Association has no income source to generate enough financial wealth to facilitate, Organize, conduct or coordinate its activities and events throughout the country. Ozone is a gas made up of three oxygen atoms (O3). It occurs naturally in small (trace) amounts in the upper atmosphere (the stratosphere). Ozone protects life on Earth from the Sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In the lower atmosphere (the troposphere) near the Earth’s surface, ozone is created by chemical reactions between air pollutants from vehicle exhaust, gasoline vapors, and other emissions. At ground level, high concentrations of ozone are toxic to people and plants. The ozone hole is not technically a “hole” where no ozone is present, but is actually a region of exceptionally depleted ozone in the stratosphere over the Antarctic that happens at the beginning of Southern Hemisphere spring (August–October).

This morning (5/9/2010) there was a Radio report sent by one of the leading FM channel in Male', DhiFM on the different issues that the Scout Association of Maldives is facing. Latter I was confirmed by a friend that a report on this was brought by DhiTV in the 8:00 PM News. In the particular radio interview (which I was listening through web) there was a spokes lady from the Home ministry saying that the Association had been shortlisted for termination of registration since they have not been following the Associations and Organizations regulation, the Association has not send Annual reports and Executive committee details for the past two years. However the name of the Association has been removed from this list after the Association requested to extend the deadline, also in the interview the lady explains that if the documents are not sent to the ministry the association will be terminated.

The 53rd Jamboree On The Air will take place on 16 and 17 October 2010. Vuvuzela Morse Code From the National JOTA Organizer in (of course) South-Africa comes the suggestion to have a game with Morse Code on the vuvuzela. Dave Gemmell suggests: i) choose a place to practice so as not to annoy any one. ii) don’t practice after 19H00 or before 08H00 or on Sundays iii) wash/clean the mouth piece properly before blowing a) send each character correctly in morse. b) how many scouts can receive message correctly? c) determine the maximum distance that can be achieved. d) record the distance and tell us about it.
