The following Emblem and its description has been officially passed by the National Executive Committee of the Scout Association of Maldives and will be included on the New Constitution of the Association.  Colour Code: Green:           Pantone 348C / CMYK (%) C 100, M 0, Y 80, K 25 Yellow:          Pantone Process Yellow C / CMYK(%) C 100, M 0, Y 0, K 0 Dark Blue:      Pantone Blue 072C / CMYK(%) C 100, M 88, Y 0, K 5 Blue:             Pantone Process Blue C / CMYK(%) C 100, M 10, Y 0, K 10 The Emblem is circular with a Green background.  The emblem consists of a skipjack tuna with dark blue lines inside a white circle in the centre of a yellow fleur-de-lis, which is evenly centred on the green background. The three petals of the fleur-de-lis are bound by a rectangular green belt with three yellow small rectangles with rounded corners on the centre of the belt. The left and right petals of the fleur-de-lis has a green five pointed star on each and the centre petal has a green spind

Crizel, the Toxic Warrior In 1991, after the eruption of mount Pinatubo, the Philippines government rejected a proposal to extend the 90 year old U.S. bases agreement. The U.S. abandoned their military bases in the Philippines, leaving behind them a toxic legacy.   The volcanic disaster combined with typhoon Yunya made thousands of people homeless, and they found refuge in camps on the ex-military grounds. They didn't know that the water they were drinking and the ground they were walking on was contaminated.

The  keffiyeh/kufiya  ( Arabic :  كوفية ‎,  kūfiyyah , plural  كوفيات ,  kūfiyyāt ), also known as a  ghutrah  ( غترة ),  ḥaṭṭah  ( حطّة ),  mashadah  ( مشدة ) ,  shemagh  ( شماغ ) or in Persian   chafiye  ( چفیه ), and  Turkish   puşi , is a traditional  headdress  typically worn by  Arab  and  Kurdish  men fashioned from a square, usually cotton, scarf. It is commonly found in arid regions to provide protection from direct  sun exposure , as well to protect the mouth and eyes from blown dust and sand. Its distinctive woven check pattern may have originated in an ancient  Mesopotamian  representation of either fishing nets or ears of grain.  I have always been inspired by this Arab headdress ... Its a symbol of Arabs. The keffiyeh became a symbol of Palestinian nationalism during the  Arab Revolt  of the 1930s. Its prominence increased in the 1960s with the beginning of the Palestinian resistance movement and its adoption by Palestinian politician  Yasser Arafat .

Maldives is in the front-line on the “War against Climate Change”. Its leaders have been voicing out and speaking about Global warming and rising seas for decades. In Vancouver, October 1987, President Maumoon called the world not to wait and watch a “Death of Nation”, later President Nasheed rallying with 350.org in Copenhagen, December 2009, made it clear to the world leaders that “ This is a matter of life and death”. Maldives has been showing a great deal of activism in a global scale, from holding the very first underwater cabinet meeting and announcing its intentions to become the very first carbon-neutral country in the world. The country has been committed to the different international treaties which had been signed. Maldives perhaps has almost no involvement in the large scale global carbon emission that has created the international climate scenario, however Maldives definitely will be among those countries that would be worst hit by the affects of the global climate chang
